Why it works

  • One page in all six layouts250 words, so switching designs never pushes it to a second page.
  • 5 of 10 bullets name a resultThe rest show the scale of the work, which a recruiter reads as proof too. Counted by the same Review the Studio runs.
  • Headings an ATS already knowsSummary, Experience, Education, Certifications, Skills, in that order.
  • Credentials have their own sectionProfessional Teaching License (Elementary), ESOL Endorsement, each with issuer and year.
  • Reads back as plain textOne column with no tables or icons. The ATS text tab shows what a parser gets.

Teaching resumes fail when they read like a classroom philosophy statement instead of a district HR match. A screener is looking for license, grade band, subject, class size, assessment movement and IEP/504 scope. The template above makes those facts parseable, and the score on this page is real proof-engine output, not a marketing number.

Have the real job posting? Paste it into the keyword scanner to see the skills it asks for most, and which ones your resume is missing.

Why each choice was made

  1. Why licensure and grade band sit at the top

District filters can reject a strong teacher before a principal sees the resume. The summary and title carry license, grade band and subject terms immediately.

  2. Why assessment movement is quantified

Teaching impact is often described as rapport or classroom culture. Assessment movement gives the reviewer a comparable result without making the resume sound inflated.

  3. Why IEP, 504 and platforms are named

These are not decorative keywords. They show compliance scope and help strict HR systems match the resume to postings that name PowerSchool, Canvas or Google Classroom.

Teacher resume questions

What skills should I put on a teacher resume?

The skills the job posting names, spelled the way it spells them. For a teacher that often includes state teaching license, elementary education, grades 3-5, ELA, standardized assessment and MAP Growth. Show each one in a bullet with a result, then list the core ones again in a short skills section.

How do I write a teacher resume summary?

Keep it to two or three sentences: your years of experience and where, the scale of your work, and one result with a number. Leave out words a recruiter cannot check, like hardworking or passionate. The example summary on this page shows the pattern.
