What Enhancv does better
Making a resume look designed. Enhancv's templates are far more visual than anything ATSPrep exports, though visual layout is also the thing most likely to confuse a parser, which is the trade-off the rest of this site is about.
The verdict
This is the sharpest trade on the page. Multi-column layouts, sidebars and text in graphics are exactly what turns a clean resume into scrambled extracted text. The ATS guides on this site document which systems handle what. That does not make design-led builders wrong; it makes them a considered choice for the situations where a human reads the PDF directly. If you use one, import the finished PDF here before you send it: the importer runs your actual file through a PDF text extractor and tells you whether it resolved to one column or two, while you can still change it.
