How Comeet reads your resume
Comeet's help centre now lives under the name Spark Hire Recruit, but its job pages still sit on comeet.com, which is how most applicants meet it. It publishes two things most systems do not: an exact list of resume formats in its developer documentation, and an exact list of the languages its parser reads. The second list is where the surprises are.
Comeet is a trademark of its owner. ATSPrep isn't affiliated with it.
Will Comeet read your file?
Comeet publishes no size limit for the application upload, so there is no number to check 1.5 MB against.

What Comeet pulls out, and what gets lost.
Your file goes in, Comeet fills the fields it recognises, and the line underneath types what its own documentation says goes missing on the way.
What Comeet accepts, with sources.
Every line below links to the page it came from. Where Comeet does not publish a detail, this guide leaves it out rather than guessing.
Size limits
Comeet does not publish a size limit for resume uploads.
Form autofill
Recruit automatically parses resumes to extract name, contact details, work experience, education and more. When a recruiter uploads a resume while adding a candidate, the profile fields are populated automatically.
The documentation describes the parse on the recruiter's side. It does not describe a step where the applicant reviews what was extracted.
What ATSPrep exports, and whether Comeet takes it
This is computed at build time by comparing our export formats to Comeet's published list. It is not written by hand, so it cannot drift out of date.

What trips people up on Comeet
Three resume formats, unless the employer changed them
The developer documentation says the file types allowed for resumes are .pdf, .doc and .docx. It adds that the list can be customised for Recruit accounts on the Enterprise plan, so one employer may accept more than another.

Recruit lists the languages its resume parsing supports, from Albanian and Bahasa Indonesian to Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese, including Hebrew, Japanese and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Arabic and Korean are not on it, though they appear in other language lists for the same product.

Recruit's own FAQ explains a “Failed to load PDF file” error: the PDF is damaged or was not created correctly, the file is not a true PDF even though its name ends in .pdf, or the file is too large to preview. The suggested fix is asking the candidate for a new PDF.

Each position has its own email address, and attachments sent to it are capped at 10 MB. A larger file bounces back with a notice. Recruit does not publish a separate limit for the application form, so this guide does not quote one.

The careers website hosted by Recruit uses addresses in the form comeet.com/jobs/company/… . If the job page you are applying on has that shape, the employer uses Comeet.

Formatting for Comeet
Go through your file before you apply and tick each one off. Your ticks stay in this browser, so the list is still here for the next Comeet job.
Both are on the resume list. Skip RTF, TXT and image files for the resume slot, even if another field takes them.
Save it from your editor, don't rename a different file to .pdf. Recruit names a file that isn't a true PDF as a reason the resume won't load.
If your resume is in Arabic or Korean, or another language Recruit does not list, expect to be read rather than parsed. An English version, if the role allows it, gives the parser something to work with.
That is the ceiling for resumes sent by email. A text-based export is a small fraction of it.
All four checked. Good luck with this one.
Once it's sent, add the job to your tracker. You'll know which version went where, and when a follow-up is fair.
Read your resume back before Comeet does.
Guidance is worth less than evidence. Export a PDF from the Studio and the X-Ray re-opens that exact file and shows you the text a parser recovers from it, in reading order, with anything it dropped marked.

Comeet and your resume
- What is Comeet?
- Comeet is an applicant tracking system, now documented under the name Spark Hire Recruit. If a job page sits on comeet.com/jobs/, the employer uses it and your resume goes through the parsing described on this page.
- Does Comeet read PDF resumes?
- Yes. PDF is on the list of file types allowed for resumes. The file needs to be a true PDF: Recruit says a file that only has a .pdf name, or a damaged PDF, may fail to load.
- What file types does Comeet accept for a resume?
- PDF, DOC and DOCX. Comeet's developer documentation states that these are the file types allowed for resumes, and that Enterprise accounts can customise the list.
- What is the Comeet resume size limit?
- Recruit publishes a 10 MB limit for attachments sent to a position's email address. It does not state a separate limit for the online application form.
- Does Comeet parse resumes in languages other than English?
- Yes, in 39 listed languages, including Hebrew, Japanese, Russian, Turkish, Vietnamese and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Arabic and Korean are not on the resume parsing list.
- Why did my resume fail in Comeet?
- For a resume that won't load, Recruit names a damaged PDF, a file that is not a true PDF despite its .pdf name, a file too large to preview, or an upload that was not processed correctly. For parsing, a resume in a language outside its published list is outside what Recruit says its parser supports.
- How can I tell if an employer uses Comeet?
- Look at the job page URL. The careers website hosted by Recruit uses comeet.com/jobs/company/… addresses.
How the rest of them read a resume
- GreenhouseGreenhouse takes PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF and TXT, and will not parse a resume larger than 2.5 MB. Its own support docs name what makes a parse fail: columns, contact details in a header, abbreviated job titles and more.5 file types
- Oracle TaleoOracle ships Taleo with a 1 MB default attachment limit and no resume parser of its own. Parsing only works if the employer has enabled a third-party partner integration, so behaviour differs from one Taleo site to the next.8 file types · Varies by employer
- SmartRecruitersSmartRecruiters accepts PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF, JPG and PNG at 2 MB per file, and its CEO named Textkernel as the parsing engine, whose own documentation warns about PDFs more bluntly than any resume blog does.6 file types · Textkernel
- AshbyAshby accepts PDF, DOC and DOCX up to 50 MB but does not support Markdown. Its docs name the two reasons a resume fails to parse, and its better parser is an opt-in feature some employers never switch on.3 file types

Each one is a single-column document, scored by the same checks the Studio runs.
