Why it works

  • One page in all six layouts288 words, so switching designs never pushes it to a second page.
  • 2 of 9 bullets name a resultThe rest show the scale of the work, which a recruiter reads as proof too. Counted by the same Review the Studio runs.
  • Headings an ATS already knowsSummary, Experience, Education, Certifications, Skills, in that order.
  • Credentials have their own sectionSIA Security Guarding Licence, First Aid at Work, each with issuer and year.
  • Reads back as plain textOne column with no tables or icons. The ATS text tab shows what a parser gets.

Layout

A tight technical sans. Each role sits on one row, with skills in an aligned column. Switching layouts never changes the words.

Opens in the Studio on this device, in the Compact layout. Replace the sample details with your own before you export.

Try it with your name

A preview only. Nothing is saved.

Security officer resumes are screened on the licence first, then on the sites you have guarded. A recruiter wants the licence and its expiry, the type of site (office, retail, hospital, event, residential), patrols and access control, CCTV and alarm response, and clear incident reports. This example sets those out the way a security contractor checks them.

Have the real job posting? Paste it into the keyword scanner to see the skills it asks for most, and which ones your resume is missing.

Why each choice was made

  1. Why the licence is in its own section

Most security postings filter on a valid licence. A Certifications section with the licence type, issuer and year lets a contractor confirm it before reading further.

  2. Why incidents are counted, not dramatised

A reader trusts "logged 40 incidents a quarter with no report sent back" over a story about one chase. Steady, accurate reporting is what clients pay for.

  3. Why this is not a cybersecurity resume

The bullets cover people, buildings and assets on site. Network monitoring, SIEM and threat detection belong on the cybersecurity analyst template.

Security officer resume questions

What skills should I put on a security officer resume?

The skills the job posting names, spelled the way it spells them. For a security officer that often includes SIA licence, guard card, access control, security patrols, CCTV monitoring and alarm response. Show each one in a bullet with a result, then list the core ones again in a short skills section.

How do I write a security officer resume summary?

Keep it to two or three sentences: your years of experience and where, the scale of your work, and one result with a number. Leave out words a recruiter cannot check, like hardworking or passionate. The example summary on this page shows the pattern.
