Why it works

  • One page in all six layouts255 words, so switching designs never pushes it to a second page.
  • 6 of 10 bullets name a resultThe rest show the scale of the work, which a recruiter reads as proof too. Counted by the same Review the Studio runs.
  • Headings an ATS already knowsSummary, Experience, Education, Certifications, Skills, in that order.
  • Credentials have their own sectionProject Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), each with issuer and year.
  • Reads back as plain textOne column with no tables or icons. The ATS text tab shows what a parser gets.

Project manager resumes fail when they hide ownership behind coordination verbs. A screener wants to know the budget, headcount, methodology and risk the candidate actually controlled. "Coordinated" and "facilitated" often mean the process happened nearby. The template above puts ownership first, and the score on this page is real proof-engine output, not a marketing number.

Why each choice was made

  1. Why budget appears before methodology

A project manager can be called agile at almost any level. Budget, headcount and programme size establish seniority before the resume names the delivery method.

  2. Why weak verbs are avoided

Project resumes overuse coordinated and facilitated. The bullets in this example use owned, led, managed and delivered because those verbs tell a screener where accountability sat.

  3. Why tools are tied to control points

Jira, Smartsheet and Microsoft Project are not listed as decoration. They appear where they controlled risk, milestones, budget or executive decisions.

Project manager resume questions

What skills should I put on a project manager resume?

The skills the job posting names, spelled the way it spells them. For a project manager that often includes Agile, Scrum, PMP, PRINCE2, Jira and Microsoft Project. Show each one in a bullet with a result, then list the core ones again in a short skills section.

How do I write a project manager resume summary?

Keep it to two or three sentences: your years of experience and where, the scale of your work, and one result with a number. Leave out words a recruiter cannot check, like hardworking or passionate. The example summary on this page shows the pattern.

Is this project manager resume template free?

Yes. Open it in the Studio, replace the example with your own work and download it as a PDF in a free design (Signal, Editorial and Minimal). Word files and the other designs come with ATSPrep Pro. There is no watermark; downloading needs a free account.

Is this project manager resume template ATS friendly?

Yes. It is one column of real text with standard section headings, and no tables, text boxes or text inside images, so parsers read it in order. Run your finished file through the free ATS resume checker to see the text it gives back.

Keep the pattern. Tell your story.
