Business Analyst Resume Template
Business analyst resumes fail when they say "gathered requirements" and stop. That sentence hides the only evidence a screener cares about: who you elicited from, which artefacts you owned, and what shipped. The score on this page is real proof-engine output, not a marketing number.
Why most business analysts don't get the call
Elicitation, not note-taking
"Gathered requirements" is the weakest sentence on most BA resumes. A screener wants proof that you elicited decisions from named stakeholders, not that you sat in meetings and transcribed what product already knew.
Artefacts have to be named
BRD, FRD, user stories, acceptance criteria and traceability matrix are not interchangeable. Naming the artefact tells a reviewer where you sat between strategy, product and delivery, and whether engineers could build from your work.
Process modelling is a real filter
BPMN, UML, swimlanes and as-is / to-be flows separate process analysis from vague coordination. Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart and SQL validation show the work survived outside a workshop deck.
Domain depth changes the conversation
Payments, healthcare claims, insurance and supply chain all have different rules. Stakeholder count, stakeholder seniority and certifications such as CBAP, ECBA or PMI-PBA give the screener a way to judge transferability.

Applicant tracking systems match on literal strings. Spell each term the way the job posting spells it and group related skills so people and parsers can recover the context.

Why the artefacts are explicit
A BA resume with no BRD, FRD, stories or acceptance criteria leaves the reviewer guessing what you actually owned. The template names each artefact because parsers and delivery managers both read those strings literally.
Why stakeholder numbers show up early
Business analysis is partly force applied through other people. Workshop counts, executive audiences and squad counts prove elicitation scope better than another line saying cross-functional communication.
Why SQL appears as validation, not identity
This is not a data analyst template. SQL is included because BAs often validate system behaviour, migration rules and report outputs, but the centre of the page is requirements, process and delivery control.
