Why it works
- One page in all six layouts258 words, so switching designs never pushes it to a second page.
- 4 of 9 bullets name a resultThe rest show the scale of the work, which a recruiter reads as proof too. Counted by the same Review the Studio runs.
- Headings an ATS already knowsSummary, Experience, Education, Skills, in that order.
- Reads back as plain textOne column with no tables or icons. The ATS text tab shows what a parser gets.

- Log about 60 courier deliveries and outgoing post a day and alert each recipient within the hour.
- Booked about 70 patient appointments a day across four dentists and confirmed the next day's list by phone.

Receptionist resumes get skipped when they say "friendly and organised" and stop there. A screener wants to know how busy the desk was: calls a day, visitors a day, how many lines or rooms you ran, and which booking and phone systems you used. This example puts those numbers next to the front-desk duties they prove.

Why most receptionists don't get the call
How busy the desk was
Calls a day, visitors a day and the size of the building or practice tell a screener whether you can hold a front desk at their pace without a queue at the door.
Phones and switchboard
Multi-line phones, a switchboard or PBX, call transfers and accurate messages are the core of most postings. Name the system and the number of lines.
Visitors, security and first impressions
Visitor logs, badges, contractor sign-in and knowing who may go upstairs show judgement as well as courtesy. Offices in the Gulf and the UK often ask for this by name.
Bookings, post and office support
Appointments, meeting rooms, couriers and office supplies are where a receptionist saves other people time. Outlook, booking tools and Microsoft Office belong here.
Skills and keywords for a receptionist resume
Applicant tracking systems match on literal strings. Spell each term the way the job posting spells it, and group related skills so people and parsers can both follow it.

Why each choice was made
Why the desk has numbers on it
"Answered phones" fits every receptionist. Calls a day, lines on the switchboard and visitors a day tell the reader the size of the job you held.
Why this is not an admin assistant resume
The bullets stay at the front desk: callers, visitors, rooms and post. Calendar and expense work for one executive belongs on an administrative assistant resume instead.
Why languages are in the summary
Front desks in Dubai, Nairobi or London often ask for a second language. Naming it in the opening lines means a recruiter's search and a quick read both find it.
Receptionist resume questions
What skills should I put on a receptionist resume?
The skills the job posting names, spelled the way it spells them. For a receptionist that often includes front desk, reception, multi-line phone, switchboard, appointment scheduling and meeting room bookings. Show each one in a bullet with a result, then list the core ones again in a short skills section.
How do I write a receptionist resume summary?
Keep it to two or three sentences: your years of experience and where, the scale of your work, and one result with a number. Leave out words a recruiter cannot check, like hardworking or passionate. The example summary on this page shows the pattern.
