Why it works
- One page in all six layouts263 words, so switching designs never pushes it to a second page.
- 2 of 8 bullets name a resultThe rest show the scale of the work, which a recruiter reads as proof too. Counted by the same Review the Studio runs.
- Headings an ATS already knowsSummary, Experience, Education, Certifications, Skills, in that order.
- Credentials have their own sectionJourneyman Electrician License, OSHA 30-Hour Construction, NFPA 70E Electrical Safety, each with issuer and year.
- Reads back as plain textOne column with no tables or icons. The ATS text tab shows what a parser gets.
Texas-licensed journeyman electrician with seven years licensed in commercial and residential work. Installs to the NEC, upgrades panels and services, and troubleshoots 480 V three-phase systems. OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E trained.
- Run a crew of 3 on commercial fit-outs up to 40,000 sq ft, from conduit and cable tray to panels and fire alarm.
- Read blueprints and pull 480/277 V three-phase feeders; 23 of our last 25 jobs passed city inspection the first time.
- Troubleshoot motor controls and rooftop unit circuits with a multimeter and megger, clearing most service calls in one visit.
- Coach 2 apprentices on conduit bending, NEC 2023 changes and lockout tagout under NFPA 70E.
- Wired 140 new-build homes, including 200 A service upgrades, EV charger circuits and solar-ready panels.
- Tested insulation resistance and continuity on each finished home, with no failed final inspections in two years.
- Replaced 60 outdated panels in older homes, correcting grounding and bonding to current code.
- Logged 8,000 on-the-job hours toward the Texas journeyman exam while attending four years of evening classes.

Electrician resumes fail when they read like a list of tools. A contractor screens for your licence level, the kind of work (residential, commercial, industrial), the code you install to, and a safety record. The template above puts the licence, the jobs and the numbers in plain text a parser reads, and the score on this page is real proof-engine output.

Why most electricians don't get the call
Licence level and where it is valid
Journeyman or master licence and the state, an ECS card and 18th Edition in the UK, an EPRA licence in Kenya or an ITI certificate in India. It is the first filter, so name it in the title line.
Residential, commercial or industrial
A 200 A service upgrade, a tenant fit-out on 480 V three-phase and a motor control centre are different work. Say which you do and at what scale.
The code and the install
NEC or BS 7671, conduit runs in EMT and rigid, cable tray, panels and distribution boards, and reading prints are literal ATS terms. Pair each with a job you did.
Testing, troubleshooting and safety
Insulation resistance and continuity testing, fault finding, NFPA 70E or safe isolation, OSHA training and no recordable incidents. Contractors weigh these heavily.
Skills and keywords for an electrician resume
Applicant tracking systems match on literal strings. Spell each term the way the job posting spells it, and group related skills so people and parsers can both follow it.

Why each choice was made
Why the licence is in the title line
"Licensed Journeyman Electrician" clears the first screen before the summary is read. The Certifications section repeats it with the issuing state and year so it can be checked.
Why jobs have sizes
Wired a building could be a garage or a hospital wing. Square footage, amperage, voltage and the number of units tell a foreman what you can run without asking.
Why inspections are counted
Passing inspection first time is the electrician's quality score. Counting it, next to a clean safety record, is stronger than calling yourself detail-oriented.
Electrician resume questions
What skills should I put on an electrician resume?
The skills the job posting names, spelled the way it spells them. For an electrician that often includes journeyman electrician, NEC, conduit, panel upgrades, troubleshooting and blueprints. Show each one in a bullet with a result, then list the core ones again in a short skills section.
How do I write an electrician resume summary?
Keep it to two or three sentences: your years of experience and where, the scale of your work, and one result with a number. Leave out words a recruiter cannot check, like hardworking or passionate. The example summary on this page shows the pattern.
