QA engineer with six years building automation for SaaS and mobile payments platforms. Cut regression runtime from 9 hours to 54 minutes, reduced defect escape rate 46%, and owned 1,400 tests across web, API and mobile.
- Own the Playwright framework covering 620 critical paths, holding flake rate under 1.8% across 40 CI runs per day.
- Lead release quality for 5 product squads, reducing defect escape rate 46% across 18 monthly deployments.
- Design API regression tests in REST Assured for 140 endpoints, cutting payment incident triage from 3 hours to 38 minutes.
- Built a Cypress smoke suite for 85 checkout flows, shrinking release validation from 6 hours to 42 minutes.
- Reduced flaky Selenium failures from 14% to 2.6% by isolating 37 brittle selectors and test data collisions.
- Automated 260 Postman contract checks in Jenkins, blocking 19 breaking API changes before customer release.
- Developed 540 manual test cases for warehouse scanning, raising requirements coverage from 62% to 91% before pilot.
- Partnered with 8 developers to reproduce priority defects, reducing average fix turnaround from 5 days to 2.
- Implemented JMeter load tests for 3 store APIs, uncovering a 1,200-request bottleneck before peak season.
QA engineer resumes fail when they say "tested software" and leave the reader to guess the risk removed. Bug counts also mean little without escape rate, release cadence or suite health. The score on this page is real proof-engine output, not a marketing number.
Why most QA engineers don't get the call
Automation ownership, not tool exposure
A screener separates candidates who built a framework from candidates who ran someone else's suite. State the manual versus automation split, the framework you owned, and the releases that depended on it.
Suite health beats the tool name
Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, pytest, JUnit and TestNG matter only after runtime and flake rate are visible. CI integration tells a reviewer whether the suite blocked releases or lived on a laptop.
Defect containment is the metric
"Tested software" says nothing, and bug counts without escape rate mean nothing. A QA resume should show what reached production less often, which severity moved, and how fast fixes cycled.
Coverage beyond the UI
Modern QA screens look for API and performance depth: Postman, REST Assured, k6, JMeter, contract checks and load thresholds. Test case volume helps only when tied to risk coverage or release speed.
Use the pattern, not the fictional story.
Keep the hierarchy
Preserve the clear section order and plain-text contact details.
Replace every claim
Swap in your own scope, metrics, tools, and outcomes—never borrowed achievements.

What the keyword filter is looking for
Applicant tracking systems match on literal strings. Spell each term the way the job posting spells it and group related skills so people and parsers can recover the context.
Why each choice was made
Why runtime and flake rate appear before tools
A long list of frameworks does not prove release confidence. Runtime and flake rate show whether automation gave the team a signal fast enough to act on, which is what a QA screener actually needs.
Why escape rate is named directly
Bug counts can reward noisy testing. Defect escape rate shows containment: how much less risk reached customers after the QA work changed.
Why API and performance sit outside UI automation
Many QA resumes collapse everything into Selenium. Separate API, performance and CI terms give keyword filters literal matches and show a reviewer the testing surface was wider than browser clicks.
