Teaching resumes fail when they read like a classroom philosophy statement instead of a district HR match. A screener is looking for license, grade band, subject, class size, assessment movement and IEP/504 scope. The template below makes those facts parseable, and the score on this page is real proof-engine output, not a marketing number.

What recruiters screen for

Why most teachers don't get the call

Licensure before philosophy

District HR systems screen for state certification and licensure before a principal reads the file. Put the license, endorsement, grade band and subject where a parser can find them.

Class size, caseload and grade band

A grade 2 reading intervention role is not the same as middle school science. Name the grade band, subject, class size and caseload instead of relying on a generic Teacher title.

Assessment movement and support plans

Standardized assessment gains, IEP and 504 support, MTSS or RTI work and differentiation show the classroom result. A reviewer needs movement, not a claim about caring for students.

Curriculum and systems named literally

Say whether curriculum was written or only delivered. PowerSchool, Canvas, Google Classroom and Schoology are strict keyword matches in many district HR systems.

What the keyword filter is looking for

Applicant tracking systems match on literal strings. Spell each term the way the job posting spells it and group related skills so people and parsers can recover the context.

Notes on the template

Why each choice was made

Why licensure and grade band sit at the top

District filters can reject a strong teacher before a principal sees the resume. The summary and title carry license, grade band and subject terms immediately.

Why assessment movement is quantified

Teaching impact is often described as rapport or classroom culture. Assessment movement gives the reviewer a comparable result without making the resume sound inflated.

Why IEP, 504 and platforms are named

These are not decorative keywords. They show compliance scope and help strict HR systems match the resume to postings that name PowerSchool, Canvas or Google Classroom.
